Trust God for Greater Things To Come
Sermon by Pastor Glen Lim
The world is shaking — leaders everywhere are warning of turbulence ahead: economic instability, disasters, uncertainty, and global volatility. But in the midst of escalating fear, Pastor Glen reminds us of a powerful truth from God: our God is greater than every upheaval we see. He is the Almighty, the Great I AM, the God who sees, the God who knows, and the God who acts.
The message calls believers to shift from passive hope to active expectation. Many hope good things will come, but few expect God to move in greater ways. Yet Scripture shows that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or imagine — according to His power at work in us.
Pastor Glen outlines what we can trust God for in these last days:
• A greater manifestation of God’s presence, where people walk into church and know the Lord is here.
• A greater release of His anointing, provision, and favor, so we can bless those in need.
• Greater worship, deeper love, and genuine fellowship among God’s people.
• Greater generosity, greater involvement, and a greater heart for evangelism.
• Greater healing, breakthroughs, deliverance, and restoration of backsliders.
• Greater wisdom, knowledge, and Holy Spirit empowerment.
Why desire greater things? Because we are blessed to be a blessing. When God moves powerfully in our lives and church, others encounter His presence, His love, and His transforming grace.
Who brings these greater things? God alone — the One who is great and does marvelous deeds (Psalm 86:10). But God chooses to work through His people. Jesus promised that those who believe in Him will do the works He did — and even greater things — because He empowers us by the Holy Spirit.
How do we step into these greater things?
Prepare yourself — stay where God places you, repent, and sanctify your life for His use.
Make Jesus the centre — your decisions, relationships, priorities, and daily rhythms must revolve around Him.
Start with the ordinary — serve with what you have, and God will add the extraordinary.
The message closes with Jesus’ reminder:
“If you believe, you will see the glory of God.” (John 11:40)
Greater things may not be visible yet — but they are already on the way. Stay faithful. Stay expectant. Keep trusting the God of greater things.
