From Brokenness to Blessedness – The Faith of Rahab
Last Sunday, Pastor Catherine Chan shared the remarkable story of Rahab, a woman whose faith transformed her destiny from brokenness to blessedness.
Why was Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute, listed in the Hall of Faith alongside Abraham and Moses? Because she chose to believe when everything told her not to. She teaches us 5 powerful acts of faith:
1️⃣ Recognize God’s Power – “I know the Lord has given this land to you.” (Joshua 2:9)
🔹 Rahab heard about God’s miracles—the parting of the Red Sea, Israel’s victories—and she chose to believe in His power even before she saw it firsthand.
🔹 Faith begins with acknowledging that God is sovereign, unstoppable, and faithful.
2️⃣ Act in Faith – Faith is not passive—it moves! (James 2:25)
🔹 Rahab hid the Israelite spies, risking her life to align with God’s plan.
🔹 True faith is stepping forward even when the outcome is uncertain.
3️⃣ Hold on to Simple Obedience – She tied the scarlet cord in her window as instructed. (Joshua 2:18)
🔹 A single act of obedience saved her household when Jericho fell.
🔹 Obedience is the bridge between God’s promises and our breakthroughs.
4️⃣ Abandon the Old Life for God’s Purpose – Rahab lived among the Israelites to this day. (Joshua 6:25)
🔹 She left her past behind and fully embraced her new identity in God.
🔹 We, too, must let go of old habits, mindsets, and strongholds to walk in God’s calling.
5️⃣ Build a Legacy of Faith – Rahab became the great-great-grandmother of King David and part of Jesus’ lineage! (Matthew 1:5)
🔹 From an outcast to an ancestor of Christ—God’s redemption is limitless!
🔹 Our faith today impacts future generations.

💡 What does Rahab’s story teach us?
✔ Your past does not disqualify you.
✔ Faith requires action—move forward even when you don’t have all the answers.
✔ God is writing a greater story—trust Him with your future.
