This Sunday, Pastor Glenn Lim opened our new series Building a Healthy Church with a powerful call to be Rooted in Truth from Titus 1.
A tree may look strong outwardly, but without deep roots it will topple in storms. Likewise, Christians and churches that are shallow in God’s Word will not withstand the trials and falsehoods of the last days. To be healthy, we must be deeply rooted in God’s unchanging Word that sustains, transforms, and produces life.
🔑 Four Key Lessons:
1️⃣ Truth Leads to Godliness
Transformation begins with sound doctrine. God’s Word sanctifies us (John 17:17) and renews our minds (Romans 12:2), shaping our character and producing godly fruit.
2️⃣ Truth Shapes Leadership
Healthy churches need leaders who are mature, faithful, grounded in Scripture, and above reproach. Leadership must be built on integrity and obedience to God, not worldly standards.
3️⃣ Truth Confronts Falsehood
In a world filled with deceptive teachings and cultural compromises, the church must stand firm on God’s Word. Scripture—living and active—is our weapon to discern and rebuke falsehood (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12).
4️⃣ Truth Produces Good Works
Faith that does not bear fruit is dead (James 2:17). Our claim to know God must be evident in our actions—through love, service, and righteousness that point others to Christ.
📌 The Challenge:
Be Rooted Deeply in God’s Word so that our lives and church thrive even in trials.
Be Committed to reading, studying, sharing, and practicing Scripture daily.
Be Doers of the Word, not just hearers—living out our faith in action and testimony.
📖 “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” – Colossians 2:6–7
As Pastor Glenn reminded us: A healthy church is not swayed by trends or falsehoods but stands firm, bearing fruit because it is deeply rooted in the truth of God’s Word. 🌿
