In the Fullness of Christ (III): Jesus Came For You

Christmas is all about JESUS

He is the only Reason for the season

No CHRIST, No Christmas

7 Reasons why Jesus Came:

I. To Do The Will of the Father

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.” (John 6:38)

II. To Bring Light to a Dark World

“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” (John 12:46)

III. To Serve and Give His Life a Ransom for Many

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5)

IV. To Call Sinners to Repentance

“And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17)

Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:31–32)

  • Only the sick need a doctor
  • Only sinners need salvation

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

  • Everyone is a sinner and needs salvation
  • Salvation can only come through true repentance and faith in Jesus
  • He is the only Savior with a cure and an answer to man’s sin problem

I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.(Acts 4:12)

V. To Seek and Save the Lost

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

VI. To Reveal God's Love for Sinners

“For God so loved the world …” (John 3:16a)

VII. To Give Eternal Life

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God loves sinners and He gave Jesus as a substitute and a sacrifice to redeem and save them.

He took the first step to reach out to sinners.

The best and greatest gift you can receive this Christmas is the gift of eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:17-18)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

God is just, holy and righteous and must punish sin. But sin has been punished in Christ, who bore our sins in His body on the cross.

Those who trust in Him are safe and secure. This is God’s guarantee and assurance!
